Tours that make Berlin get under your skin.
Delivered by a passionate conversationalist.

A major European metropolis that likes slow mornings, Berlin is greener than most imagine and more welcoming than most expect. She has true grit despite her past, is dirty where she shouldn't be, and is polished where it's not needed. Berlin has many faces, wears many hats, and never stops giving you unexpected answers to questions you didn't dare ask.

The Essential berlin

All of Berlin's must sees.
Join me on the rollercoaster ride that is Berlin's history: the ups and downs, the twists and turns, and also, well, the crashes. The Prussian rise to power, the shadows of the Nazi era, the scars of the Cold War, the vibrant here and now, and everything in between.

We will visit Museum Island, the Palace Square, touch the Berlin Wall, see Checkpoint Charlie, Hitler's bunker, the Holocaust Memorial, walk through the Brandenburger Gate, and much more.

After four hours, you will feel much more at home.

The Chemical City

History of Drugs in Berlin
If we look closely, we find that at the heart of every chapter in Berlin’s modern history, drugs have played a pivotal role. This tour traces the path from the 19th-century laboratories of Merck through the wild, Golden 1920s, the meth-fueled Blitzkrieg, and the addictions of the Nazi elite.

We explore the doping of the GDR and the post-unification Techno revolution that redefined the city’s nights. We will visit the sites that are still standing and the ghosts of those that no longer exist—uncovering the events, the people, and the ideologies that shaped, and were shaped by, Berlin’s relationship with substances.

Testimonials

Tour Experiences

"I'm a history teacher. I took notes. Aviv knows things about this city that aren't in any book I've read, and he delivers them like a great dinner conversation, not a lecture."
Danielle T.
From Tel Aviv · The Classic Tour
"I've been to Berlin three times and thought I knew the city. Aviv showed me I'd only seen the surface. The way he connects the architecture to the politics to the people — it clicks in a way no museum ever did."
Sarah & Tom
From London · The Classic Tour
"Bizarre, fascinating, uncomfortable in the best way. I came back to the hotel and couldn't stop talking about it. My husband had to tell me to go to sleep."
Danielle T.
From London · The Classic Tour
"I study pharmacology. When Aviv started explaining the chemistry behind what was happening in 1930s Berlin I almost couldn't believe what I was hearing. Completely unexpected. Completely brilliant."
Danielle T.
From Tel Aviv · The Classic Tour
"We went in with no expectations and came back feeling like Berlin is now part of us. Aviv tells history the way you tell a good story — not dates, characters. We're already planning to come back for The Influence."
Danielle T.
From Tel Aviv · The Classic Tour
"Four hours felt like forty minutes. I kept thinking we were almost done and then Aviv would open another door — sometimes literally — and there'd be another hour of story behind it."
Danielle T.
From Tel Aviv · The Classic Tour
"We almost chose a different tour because the topic felt heavy. Aviv made it feel essential. By the end we weren't just understanding Berlin differently — we were understanding the twentieth century differently."

The Guide

Hi, I’m Aviv

I love people, am obsessed with cats, and often stop to admire trees. And I’m good with words. I believe there are no wrong questions, and I am happy to discuss anything that sparks interest. I enjoy shedding light on taboos and overlooked corners of history, and connecting the dots between past and present.

My tours are a collection of my favorite stories and facts that bring Berlin to life and make you feel a bit more at home, and I try to make them funny when possible and serious when needed. Drop me a line if you have any questions or requests, and join me for a walk through Berlin, a city that never stops giving up its secrets.

FAQ

Common questions

How long are the tours?

Around four hours, give or take. It depends on the group, the questions, and how deep we go — and we usually go pretty deep.

How big are the groups?

Small. I keep it to 8 people maximum. This isn't a walking lecture with a flag on a stick — it's a conversation, and conversations don't work in crowds.

Do I need to know anything about Berlin beforehand?

Not a thing. The tours are built to work whether you landed yesterday or you've been coming for years. The only thing I ask is that you come curious.

Are the tours in English or Hebrew?

Both, depending on the group. When you book, let me know your preference and I'll make it work. Mixed groups get English by default, with Hebrew asides as needed.

What's the difference between The Classic and The Influence?

The Classic is Berlin's full story — Prussian empire to Cold War to today. The Influence zooms in on one thread that runs through all of it: drugs, from 19th-century laboratories to techno clubs. Both are four hours. Both will change how you see the city.

What happens if it rains?

We walk. Berlin doesn't cancel for rain and neither do I. Bring a jacket — the stories are better when the weather is moody anyway.
